Job Overview: As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in our commercial and residential excavation projects. From mass excavation to final grade, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the job is completed efficiently and accurately. This includes tasks such as driveway construction, utility installation, backfilling, and building retaining walls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, particularly excavators, in challenging environments such as tight spaces and steep hillsides.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks related to excavating residential foundations, adhering to project timelines and specifications.
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, compactors, skid steers, and trucks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and plans, ensuring work is performed according to specifications.
  • Install water and sewer services with precision and accuracy.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Lift and move heavy objects weighing 75+ pounds as needed.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and flexibility in work schedule.
  • Provide own reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • 3+ years of experience excavating residential or commercial foundations.
  • Proficient in finding grade with equipment and using lasers with precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans accurately.
  • Experience installing water and sewer services.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Excellent physical condition to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with work schedule.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
